The Road to Hogmanay Winner Announced!
The organisers are pleased to announce the winner of Road to Hogmanay 2009 is:
The Black Hand Gang
The Black Hand Gang will perform at Glasgow's Hogmanay this year alongside Deacon Blue, Tommy Reilly and Bahookie. Variety Suite were a close runner up and will perform at King's Tuts this hogmanay. The competition was a huge success this year with over 3000 votes so a big thank you to all who voted. We'll see you at the bells!
What is Road to Hogmanay?
‘Road To Hogmanay' is a chance for independent acts to end the year on a massive high by kicking off the legendary Glasgow's Hogmanay event at George Square in front of a crowd of 10,000 people, or to play at an intimate knees up as part of King Tuts Wah Wah Hut's 31st December celebrations.
Music industry delegates from across Scotland picked 9 acts, who played four showcases held at George Square over the 26th November, 3rd, 10th and 17th of December.
From these four showcases - the public were invited to vote for who they think should play the coveted Hogmanay gigs!
